Before you book, ask.

Four questions that tell you a lot about an AC company. A good one will answer them plainly.

  1. What is your Florida contractor licence number?Florida licenses air conditioning contractors through the DBPR. Ask for the number (often starting CAC or CMC) and look it up on myfloridalicense.com before work starts.
  2. What does the visit cost before any repair?Ask what the service call or diagnostic fee is, whether it counts towards the repair, and what after-hours visits cost.
  3. Can you send a certificate of insurance?Ask for the certificate, and read what it covers and for which dates.
  4. What exactly is in the quote?Get the diagnosis, the parts, the labour, the warranty and whether the price can change once work starts, in writing.
