The short answer
If your AC quits on a weekend in Tampa Bay, you have options: 249 of the 353 AC repair companies in our directory that post hours on Google are open Saturday (71%), and 164 are open Sunday (46%). Forty-two list themselves as open 24 hours, seven days a week (12%). Ninety-nine keep weekday hours only.
Before you call a 24-hour number, check the license. Only 12 of the 42 round-the-clock companies (29%) put a Florida contractor license number on their own website. Across all 641 companies we list, 351 do (55%).
When Tampa Bay AC companies are open
The most common schedule is plain weekday hours: 84 of the 353 companies open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday. Plenty run longer. Not counting the 24-hour group, 86 stay open until 8 p.m. or later on at least one weekday, and 68 open at 7 a.m. or earlier.
Weekend hours are shorter and vary more:
- Saturday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. are the most common, at 23 companies each. Fourteen open Saturday morning only, 8 a.m. to noon.
- Sunday: Of the 122 companies open Sunday without being open 24 hours, 18 keep 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 14 keep 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ten run 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Both days: 159 companies are open Saturday and Sunday.
These are the hours listed on each company's Google Business Profile, so they mean the office or dispatch line is open. They don't promise a technician can come that day. If you need someone today, start with the 313 companies that advertise same-day service on their own website. Eighty-eight of them are also open Sunday.
Weekend and 24-hour availability by area
The table shows the 12 areas with the most AC repair companies. "With hours" counts companies that post hours on Google; the other columns are counted from that group.
| Area | Companies listed | With hours | Open 24/7 | Open Sunday | Open Saturday |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tampa | 112 | 62 | 17 | 42 | 50 |
| Bradenton | 61 | 23 | 2 | 10 | 11 |
| St. Petersburg | 51 | 22 | 1 | 8 | 17 |
| Winter Haven | 37 | 17 | 0 | 9 | 13 |
| New Port Richey | 36 | 19 | 2 | 8 | 11 |
| Lakeland | 35 | 19 | 2 | 8 | 12 |
| Clearwater | 34 | 26 | 1 | 9 | 14 |
| Largo | 29 | 13 | 1 | 6 | 10 |
| Apollo Beach | 27 | 18 | 2 | 9 | 16 |
| Land O' Lakes | 26 | 19 | 1 | 6 | 10 |
| Valrico | 20 | 10 | 3 | 7 | 10 |
| Riverview | 19 | 16 | 2 | 12 | 16 |
Tampa has the most choice by far: 17 of the 42 round-the-clock companies are in Tampa. Riverview is the most weekend-friendly area. All 16 companies there with posted hours open Saturday, and 12 open Sunday. Valrico is close behind, and none of its 10 companies with hours is weekdays only.
Weekend coverage is thinner in Bradenton, where 12 of the 23 companies with hours keep weekdays only. It's also thin in Zephyrhills (2 of 10 open Sunday) and Spring Hill (1 of 5). Every other area is on the Tampa Bay page.
"Emergency service" doesn't always mean open
Almost every company says it handles emergencies. 537 of the 641 companies (84%) list emergency AC repair on their own website. That includes 73 of the 99 whose Google hours are weekdays only. Some of them run an after-hours line, and some call back the next business day. If it's Saturday night and the house is 88 degrees, ask on the first call: "Can a technician come today, and what's the after-hours charge?"
24-hour companies that publish a license number
These 12 companies list 24-hour hours on Google and show a Florida contractor license number on their own website. All 12 also advertise emergency AC repair.

How to get a weekend repair without overpaying
- Ask about an after-hours fee first. Some companies charge extra for nights and weekends. Ask before you book, not when the bill comes.
- Get a second opinion on a big quote. 83 of the companies we list advertise free second opinions, and 370 advertise free estimates. If a weekend tech says you need a new system, a Monday second look costs nothing. Our repair or replace guide helps you weigh it.
- Book online if you can't get through. 163 companies take bookings online, including 32 of the 42 round-the-clock ones.
- Check the basics before you call. A tripped breaker, a clogged filter or a thermostat set to "heat" can all look like a dead AC.

How we counted
We used the 641 Tampa Bay AC repair companies in the AC Repair Scout directory, checked on November 6, 2026. Hours come from each company's Google Business Profile, and 353 of the 641 list them; every hours figure above is out of those 353. A company counts as "24/7" if its profile shows open 24 hours on all seven days, and as open on a day if it lists any hours that day. Emergency service, same-day service, online booking, free estimates, free second opinions and license numbers come from each company's own website. "License number" means a Florida contractor license number shown on the site. We didn't verify it with the state. Hours can change, so call ahead.
